As an Entry-Level 3D Character Artist, you will work closely with the art team to model, sculpt, and texture high-quality characters for Segritude’s games. Your work will help define the visual identity of the characters, contributing to the overall narrative and player experience.

• Passionate About Character Design:
You are excited about creating compelling characters to creatures and NPCs. You love thinking about how form, shape, and texture come together to bring characters to life.

• Eager to Grow:
You are hungry to learn new techniques, tools, and workflows in character art, whether it's improving your sculpting or learning new ways to optimize models for performance.

• Detail-Oriented:
You have a keen eye for anatomy, proportions, and detail. You enjoy fine-tuning every aspect of a character, from facial expressions to clothing textures, making them visually stunning and believable.

• Adaptable:
You can shift between different art styles, whether working on realistic characters or more stylized designs, all while ensuring your models meet technical constraints.

• Collaborative:
You thrive in a team environment and value feedback from senior artists and other departments to ensure that your characters meet both artistic and gameplay needs.

• Work alongside senior artists to create detailed 3D character models, from initial sculpting to final texturing, in alignment with the project’s visual style.

• Collaborate with animators and technical artists to ensure that character models are rigged and skinned efficiently for animation.

• Use industry-standard software like ZBrush, Blender, or Maya to sculpt high-poly characters and create optimized low-poly models for in-game use.

• Create high-quality textures using software such as Substance Painter, ensuring that the materials (like skin, armor, or fabric) are believable and visually impressive.

• Assist in optimizing character models for game performance while maintaining visual fidelity, including the use of LODs and efficient UV layouts.

• Experience with 3D modeling and sculpting software such as ZBrush, Blender, Maya, or similar tools, with a portfolio that demonstrates your skill in character creation.

• Familiarity with texturing pipelines, including PBR workflows, using tools like Substance Painter or Photoshop.

• A strong understanding of human and creature anatomy, form, and proportion to create believable characters.

• Knowledge of game development pipelines, including asset optimization for game engine like Unreal.

• A strong desire to grow as a character artist, taking direction from senior artists and improving through feedback.
